Manages subordinate employees of Accounting Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS/BA degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college or university; and minimum of ten+ years related experience and additional training in accounting and MIS areas is preferred.
SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. The ability to research and make connections with data to formulate financial projections and reports.
COMMUNICATION
Work well with others and communicates and gathers feedback from other departments. Supports the organization, customers, and stakeholders with effective communication via in-person interactions, email, phone, and written correspondence.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Public Accountant and/or Certified Management Accountant highly preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
LOCATION AND TRAVEL
Spokane WA or Pullman WA is where the position will be located. Must be able to work at multiple facilities between Spokane and Pullman on a weekly basis. There will be some travel required for investor relations and strategic business purposes.

Position: Vice President of Cultivation & Operations
Salary: $120-140K DOE

About this role: The VP of Cultivation & Operations will have the overarching responsibility will be to oversee the planning and execution of plant production from micropropagation (tissue culture) to controlled environment production to greenhouse production to customer delivery, including the highest level of quality control to produce true-to-type and disease-free plant materials.
Assume primary responsibility for developing plant production leaders, mentoring them to provide timely reporting and developing plant production schedules. Assume responsibility for the identification, testing, development, and integration of new technologies and process improvements into the production environment.
Contribute to the long-term vision for physical facilities and work processes that ensure future capabilities align with our growth aspirations. Develop and manage spending and budgets, including identifying and providing justification for all desired capital items.
The VP of Cultivation and Operations will report to the Chief Science Officer. This role will also be expected to have strong working relationships with the CEO, VP of Sales, and VP of Biomass Processing.
The VP of Cultivation and Operations will be responsible for ongoing analysis of the operations and develop action plans to identify production and cost efficiencies. Other responsibilities include helping develop cultivation budgets with the CEO and CSO; reporting on cultivation budget - actual
vs. projected budget; forecasting production schedules and yields; overseeing recruiting and hiring to ensure the operations are staffed as per the budgets; effectively managing the operations at multiple production and greenhouse facilities while always ensuring consistency and regulatory
compliance; ensuring the individual skills of the team are utilized efficiently; implement operational processes and maximizing successful production of plant materials.

Work is performed in a normal warehouse environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures. The employee's working conditions are moderately noisy. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office and setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to speak and hear; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; to verbally communicate to exchange information. While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
